Ocean Bay Shingle beach in 1960
This photo from July 1960 shows Shingle beach at the north end of Ocean Bay at Swanage.
The bay's northern end was covered in small stones or pebbles, which resulted in a steep pebble bank going to the sea.
This was in place until the mid-1990s, when the shingle was washed away over time, leaving the sand visible at low tide today.
