Your chance to visit the famous Time Team Geodome and discover more about archaeology.
Corfe Castle welcome Time Team. This bumper weekend celebrating all things archaeology will include guided walks around the castle, talks and activities including: Environmental archaeology demonstrations; learn excavation skills on a mock excavation exercise; Medieval costumes to try on; and can you tell the difference between Roman and Anglo-Saxon poo? Plus blacksmithing, stonemasonry... and much, much more.
Saturday 19th July 11:15- 12:15 & 13:30 - 14:30 Join retired NT archaeologist Martin Papworth on a guided walk around the castle and discover more about the excavations that have taken place over the years.
Sunday 20th July 11:00 - 11:40: Join Pam White on a walk under the Outer Bridge. Built in the 1280s in the reign of Edward I, it's the oldest visible bridge in Dorset.
Sunday 20th July 13:00 - 13:30: Talk by Pam White: Pelicans to Peregrines. Archaeological excavations and conservation work have uncovered fascinating new information about the building of the castle.
