An exclusive opportunity to see and listen for the iconic ‘churring’ Nightjar. A nocturnal bird perfectly adapted to hunt for it’s insect prey over the heath at night and stay hidden during daylight hours. Nightjars are associated with folklore and tall tales, due to their nocturnal habits – join us to find out more about these mythical birds from Africa!
We will also keep an eye, or ear out for other nocturnal wildlife at home on the reserve, such as foxes, deer and bats.
The event will start with a delicious two-course dinner in the RSPB Arne Café, followed by a 1.5-hour guided walk across the reserve. Please let us know of any dietary requirements during the booking process.
We will have binoculars available to hire – please ask a a member of the team on the day.
