This photo dated 1905 shows the United Reformed Church on the right with Church Hill beyond. On the left is a three-story building which was severely damaged by fire in 1961 and resulted in the building being demolished. The stone buildings after Queens Road have been replaced by the current Spar shop, and newer houses followed by Townsend Road and the Black Swan pub
