Women and Song

An evening of original music with a female focus. Mandy Woods’ Women and Song Series of concerts put female songwriters, composers and performers in the spotlight. Mandy a Glastonbury based singer and songwriter has crafted songs and performed them wherever she has happened to find herself on her unconventional musical journey on both sides of the Atlantic. Her songs of hope, heartbreak, humour and the highway are inspired by her own life and adventures and the lives around her. She is joined by Polly Morris performing laugh-out-loud funny but also heartbreakingly poignant songs. Dorset based singer-songwriter Polly Morris is a whirlwind of entertainment. Prepare to be engaged from start to finish, as Polly takes you through every emotion you have - from tears to laughter. Completing the trio of artists is Dr Esther Rivas-Adrover's whose piano compositions are described as ripples of water, waves of ideas or echoes in a cave. The music reflects the complexity in life, as well as moments of inspiration through nature and experiences; her music can be heard on her YouTube channel: ERA Piano. Esther’s profession is in architecture, at the very intersection of science and art, and she carries her inspiration and need to create through different disciplines and activities.

50% of the proceeds of the evening will be donated to the Focus Centre in Swanage which is trying to raise £10,000 to open a community cafe and garden.
