A foggy Sunday morning on Wareham Quay
Thick autumn fog settles over the River Frome on a quiet Sunday morning in Wareham.
The red-brick Old Granary stands at the water’s edge, its reflection rippling across the still river. Behind it, the tower of Lady St Mary Church fades into the mist.
The quay is almost empty: just a few benches, a lone lamp post and a small group of ducks gathered by the steps.
Downstream, the willows and riverbank trees soften into grey until the river disappears into the fog, giving one of Dorset’s oldest market towns a calm, timeless feel.
