Shore Road with Bathing Huts on the beach
Looking South along Shore Road in the late 1800s. On the beach are wheeled bathing machines to take swimmers to the water.
In the area between the square and the Mowlem building are stone cranes and stacks of Purbeck Stone waiting to be loaded onto boats.
The Water Tower can be seen on the top right of the photo and it is a grade II listed landmark building which was built in 1886.
