Diane Roberts in Swanage

Diane is a Swanage based artist whose work reflects a lifelong passion for the Dorset landscape and coastline, expressed through the rich and tactile medium of textiles.Having studied painting at college in London and following a career lecturing locally, Diane developed a deep interest in textile art.

She has since dedicated many years to training, refining her techniques, and gaining the skills and qualifications needed to create pieces that are both visually striking and enduring.

Diane hand-dyes many of her own fabrics and combines them with luxurious materials such as silk and velvet. She also enjoys reimagining vintage textiles, giving them new life in contemporary designs.

Her work is distinguished by a confident use of bright, fresh colours alongside geometric and floral patterns, capturing the character, flora, and fauna of the Jurassic Coast.
