Wareham Carnival
Friday, 16 July 2027 to Sunday, 18 July 2027
Wareham
Wareham Recreation Ground (the Rec), Worgret Road, Wareham, BH20 4PH
Every July, Wareham Carnival brings the historic market town to life with a weekend of community celebration. Carnival weekend is based at the Rec and runs from Friday to Sunday. The highlight is the Sunday procession, when decorated floats, walking groups and the Carnival Royalty make their way through the town centre, followed by an afternoon of family fun on the Rec.
The carnival is run entirely by local volunteers, and fundraising goes on all year. The calendar includes a Spring Fair, Launch Night, the Duck Race, a Safari Supper and Fact Hunt, a History Walk, a Flower Festival and a town Scarecrow Competition. Money raised goes back into the community to local schools, youth groups, clubs and charities.
The 2027 theme is still to be announced. Local groups and businesses can enter the procession, book a stall, sponsor the carnival or volunteer to help through the forms on the carnival website.
