Swanage Royal British Legion Branch and Club is located on the High Street of Swanage and is run for the benefit of its Members and to provide funds to ex-service personnel in need of help and support.The ‘Branch’ is the Charity and is a branch of the Royal British Legion. The Swanage Branch has its own committee which is dedicated to raising funds for the Charity.The ‘Club’ is a social club seeking to provide benefit for the community. It has a bar and restaurant and social facilities. As a business it has to comply with all the relevant rules, licensing and legislation for a business. This includes health and safety, financial accounting rules, licensing laws, employment laws, etc. The Club pay for the upkeep of the building and provide the social, drinking and eating facilities for the members. The Club Management Committee runs the Club for the benefit of its members and all are non-paid members, who give their time voluntarily.
Swanage has had a RBL Club, since 1931 and over the years it has been extended, changed and modernised.
Swanage Royal British Legion is proud of the facilities it provides to its members. We have three bars, a snooker room containing two full sized tables, a restaurant with stunning views across the Purbeck hills, A function room available for use for members and non-members, as well as various sports teams and an excellent entertainment programme.
The club also has a free Wi-Fi service available for members & their guests to use. To use the Wi-Fi, just ask a member of the bar staff for the password which changes from time to time.
