25 Years of Virtual Swanage
25 Years ago, we started the Virtual Swanage website with 5 pages, now we have over 2250 pages of local information, events, photos and business listings.
For our 25th anniversary we have launched a new look for the website with a new “mega menu” navigation system which is fully mobile and tablet friendly.
The Directory section has been updated with opening times and an open or closed indicator on each listing and we have added what3words links to the listings so users of the what3words mobile app and website can easily find the business.

In the accommodation section we have a new interactive map on each of the listing pages to quickly see the location of each place to stay. We have also increased the size of the images the businesses can upload to improve the appearance on larger screens. Each listing now has the option to add a what3words location link via their secure admin pages.

The Events section has been updated to have a new month view style calendar for desktop users and it changes shape to be a list view for mobile or smaller screen visitors.
In Things to Do, we have added related photos to many of the pages from our extensive photo gallery and visitors can click the images to see the full size versions in the gallery.
