Purbeck Art Weeks Festival offers wonderful art, concerts and talks in venues across beautiful Purbeck. Enjoy exploring the array of Open Studios and the huge range of artistic riches, from painting, photography and sculpture to ceramics, prints and mosaics, wood work, digital art and much more. PAW artists are ready to welcome you.
Call in to Rollington Barn - near Corfe Castle – for PAW’s exciting collective exhibition of 100+ artists plus artwork from all 17 Purbeck Young Artist's school workshops. Here you will find a taste of all that’s on offer so it’s the ideal place to start your art trail, after delicious refreshments in the courtyard café. Remember to pick up a PAW competition postcard and the chance to win £250 towards some art of your choice!
Alongside the art PAW is offering concerts, talks, jazz, film, and more. Concerts include the acclaimed I Fagiolini ensemble and Gabrieli Consort - and for something a bit different the English Cornett & Sackbut Ensemble conjure up 16th and 17th century Venice in St James, Kingston. If you’re interested in brass, come and find out about the mysteries and histories of the tubes that make brass instruments sing.
This year’s festival theme is ‘Movement’ in all its variations – as you will see in the local shop window display competition. Please give participating shops your support by voting online for your favourite display.
Expect the unexpected and enjoy the PAW fortnight!
