Purbeck Art Weeks Festival

Date: Saturday, 25 May 2019 to Sunday, 09 June 2019

Town: Swanage

Purbeck Art Weeks Festival offers wonderful art, concerts and talks in venues across beautiful Purbeck.  Enjoy exploring the array of Open Studios  and the huge range of artistic riches, from painting, photography and sculpture to ceramics, prints and mosaics, wood work, digital art and much more.  PAW artists are ready to welcome you.

Call in to Rollington Barn - near Corfe Castle – for PAW’s exciting collective exhibition of 100+ artists plus artwork from all 17 Purbeck Young Artist's school workshops. Here you will find a taste of all that’s on offer so it’s the ideal place to start your art trail, after delicious refreshments in the courtyard café.  You could win a voucher for £250 of art of your choice in this year’s Grand Raffle, and have a go at sketching in a special ‘PAW Sketch’ drawing pad and share your results with us to win a prize!

Alongside the art PAW is offering concerts, talks, film, and more.  Festival highlights include a celebration of 20th century English Coronations with the Gabrieli Consort plus brass and timpani, while I Fagiolini return with a performance celebrating Leonardo da Vinci in art and music.  The English Cornett & Sackbut Ensemble are back by popular demand,  and if you’re interested in music for counter-tenor then make sure you book for the recital by Mark Chambers plus lute and cornett.

This year’s theme ‘Flights of Fancy’ (loosely inspired by the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci) can be interpreted in so many different ways, as you will see!

Welcome to PAW and enjoy the fortnight!
