The Story of the Purbeck Film Festival The Purbeck Film Festival, run by a Charitable Trust, was established in 1996.
It first began when a group of volunteers brought together the rural community to celebrate 100 years of cinema. Nearly 20 years later, the Festival continues to be run by volunteers, bringing film to rural areas and bringing people together to celebrate film.
There are screenings of over 70 films from around the world in over 30 venues across Purbeck, Poole and Bournemouth.
Wherever possible we invite VIP speakers, hold Q&A events and discussions.
For several years the Festival has screened films outdoors during the summer and responds to requests from communities and other festivals to run cinematic events throughout the year.
As we say, "Give us a 13 amp socket and we will show you a movie..."
