Town: Langton Matravers
Held in the lush, green Purbeck countryside on the outskirts of Swanage in Dorset, the third Wilkswood Reggae Festival will take place from Friday July 20th to Sunday July 22nd 2018.
This year’s festival features some heavyweight headliners: Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Mad Professor, General Levy, Joe Ariwa, Carroll Thompson, Earl Sixteen and the Uppercut Band will all play the main stage during the weekend. The full schedule is due to be announced but other confirmed acts include Mikey General, Chainska Brassika, Dubheart, Don Fe, Hempolics, Prince Jamo, Hytal Bosrah, Scientist Sound, Kindread, Blackout JA, Gaz Mayall and Mr Mighty. With two undercover live performance stages and the Jah Spirit acoustic/poetry stage (the latter featuring spoken word from Kei Miller) there will be entertainment throughout the weekend.
The Kid’s Zone field is much expanded this year and will feature the Kid’s Cinema a Chillout Lounge, Stone Carving Lessons, Pizza Make & Bake, Pottery, Messy Painting, Face Painting, Bushcraft and Nature Walks.
Add street food stalls (including the famous Jerkshak Caribbean cuisine, Purbeck Paella and wood-fired pizza) and bars serving ice cold Red Stripe, craft ales, local cider and rum cocktails and you have a recipe for a fabulous family-friendly festival weekend!
