Come and be inspired by the skill and creativity of Dorset Arts & Crafts. The main hall in Purbeck School hosts the largest sales gallery in Dorset with work by members of the Dorset Arts & Crafts Association. It's the place to find that perfect present or souvenir of your holiday. All the art, craft and photography in main hall is for sale and can be taken away on day of purchase. This year we also see the return of our Open Art, Craft and Photography competitions. There are over 20 different craft sections including - beadwork, jewellery, lace, recycling, patchwork and quilting, spinning and weaving, pottery and woodwork. Probably the largest variety of craft in one place in Dorset. We have 3 guest exhibitions - "From Fleece to Felt" by 5 Feltmakers, a celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Dorset Guild of Weavers Spinners & Dyers, and a photography exhibition by Wareham Camera Club. Meet the makers, many of whom will be demonstrating their craft in our stalls areas. Let the youngsters 'have-a-go' in our Children's Workshops, there will be a variety of activities including making beaded geckos, watercolour painting, air dried clay models and Dorset buttons. Advanced booking is not necessary, there is a nominal charge per workshop activity to cover material costs. Free entry to the Showcase for children. There's free parking, disabled access throughout and refreshments available in the cafeteria. The Dorset Arts & Crafts Showcase is organised by the Dorset Arts & Crafts Association.
