National Trust event. This May bank holiday, witness the sound and fury of Saxon and Viking warriors in pitched battle as they recreate the siege of Wareham.
Beware the fearsome cries of "Odin" across the Isle of Purbeck! You can also explore the Saxon village and discover what life was like during this harsh period.
10.00am Saxon living history village opens.
11.00am Viking raid on the Saxon stronghold of Corfe.
12:30pm King Alfred's Court (lower camp). 'The forming of the great 'Alliance'. Training the young volunteer warriors to join King Alfred's army (main arena).
2.45pm Mustering the Saxon, Brythonic and Viking armies for battle.
