Time(s): 19:30 to 21:30

Join Tim Arnold, ex Chief Instructor Royal Military School of Music, as he explores the brass family of instruments, assisted by, among others, Joe Arnold, bass trombone with the English National Opera.

How can a trumpeter play 45 different notes with just 3 valves? What's the difference between a cornett and cornet? Using live demonstrations, recordings, video and discussion, Tim unravels the mysteries and histories, and reveals some of the remarkable twists and turns in all the tubes that make a brass instrument sing.
