Swanage James Day Residential Home to Close

James Day Home in New Swanage will be  closing as a residential home which is planned for the end of March / early April.

There is to be a meeting at the home on Thursday 4th Feb when the residents will be told that they are to be relocated.

The home has had many thousands of pounds spent on it over recent months and the standard of care and facilities provided are excellent so the choice by Dorset County Council to vastly increase the rent the owners have to pay making it no longer viable to keep open seems very unfair on both the residents and staff who have worked very hard to look after the elderly residents and run the home.

Website Stats for 2007, 2008 and 2009

Website visitor stats for the past three years, as you can see from the numbers below the visitors for 2009 are down from 2008 but there was a sharp decline in visitors around August 2008 when the media started to give a lot of coverage to the up and coming recession.

£100,000 pledge to ensure Swanage and Corfe Castle rejoin rail network

DISTRICT transport chiefs have pledged £100,000 to ensure Swanage and Corfe Castle are reconnected to the mainline rail network.

If regular passenger services are ever to return to the Purbeck towns, after an absence of more than three decades, it is essential Worgret Junction, near Wareham, is upgraded.

So Purbeck District Council members agreed to invest the £100,000 to help bankroll a junction signalling and track design blueprint.

The web logs are showing lots of visitors to the website and hopefully they will visit the town one day, especially the nice people in Puerto Vallarta in Mexico on 187.146.222.115 who spent a lot of time last night trying to hack this website and the people on 189.30.227.243 at brasiltelecom.net.br who are busy trying to hack in again today.
