The Accommodation

Situated in Harmans Cross near Swanage and Corfe Castle, the accommodation is central to the Isle of Purbeck, an ideal location from which to explore the many nearby places of interest, including the sandy beaches at Studland and Swanage, Wareham, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and the Jurassic Coast (a UNESCO World Heritage Site).

Your hosts at April Cottage are Joanna and Peter Burri-Weaver who offer a personalised level of Anglo-Swiss hospitality sure to make any guest feel welcome. In addition, not many guest accommodations can boast an ex-Olympian and 1st SAS descendant for hosts. As well as a great location and a friendly welcome, our full English breakfast, which comes with every stay, can be taken in the large gardens, weather permitting of course.

Peter & Joanna are professionals in the hospitality industry who have recently managed hotels in exotic places like the Seychelles and Zanzibar. During the winter months, they now manage hotels or resorts in the Alps.

Two guest rooms are available at April Cottage, a ground-floor twin room with a private bathroom and a large first floor double en suite, reached by a spiral staircase. The double can accommodate a further bed.
The Lodge, located in the garden is constructed of Arctic Pine and with its unique features, can accommodate 3-4 people or can be hired for a private BBQ. With its rugs and open fire, there is hardly a more romantic place for you to enjoy a cosy evening. During October - May private Swiss Cheese Fondues or Raclettes are being served in the cottage in front of a roaring wood burner.

Directions

The Cottage and Lodge are situated in the village of Harman's Cross, halfway between Corfe Castle and Swanage. It is the first cottage on the left when turning into South Instow (see Union Jack and Swiss flag). Reached from Wareham on the A351 or by ferry from Sandbanks to Studland it is a location ideal for exploring the local and wider attractions.
